With the Summer Holiday season fast approaching, a number of UK Airports are adopting the "One Too Many" campaign in order to help them reduce disruptive passenger incidents.

The campaign draws on the “UK Aviation Industries Code of Practice on disruptive passengers” which encourages Voluntary Signatories to the Code to  work together to prevent and minimise incidents at Airports, and promote:

  • A zero-tolerance approach to disruptive behaviour
  • The identification, pre-emption, management and reporting of disruptive incidents
  • The responsible sale and consumption of alcohol; and
  • Education and communication with passengers.

A number of airports are participating this year including Manchester, Stansted, East Midlands, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Southampton, Heathrow, Belfast, Liverpool John Lennon, Leeds Bradford, Bristol, Birmingham, Newcastle and Gatwick.

As we have previously reported the Government continues to monitor the position with Airport alcohol Sales.

Karen Dee, Chief Executive of the Airport Operators Association, commented:

“The One Too Many campaign has returned to remind passengers of the penalties they face. However, the industry itself needs no reminder. Airport and airline staff are always ready to act to prevent or deal with a disruptive incident and will not hesitate to action the deserved penalties. We hope those departing from the UK’s airports this summer fly responsibly and start their party at the destination, not on-board.”
